Rice is the one of the most basic food for us, and we usually eat boiled rice with side dish like Natto (fermented soybeans), Mentaiko (fish egg), mekabu (seaweed) and so son.
Ochadsuke is one of them and hot water (or green tea) is added to boiled rice. There are a lot of styles, and the following style is the most popular way of ochadsuke for the common people.
Nagatani-en is a Japanese food company and sales dry powdered ochadsuke. It is packed to a dose, and you can make ochadsuke very easily by adding boiled water and a dose to a bowl of boiled rice. I think when we say ochadsuke, most of Japanese imagine it.

Nagatani-en ochadsuke is affordable price, tastes good and is easy to carry. And also, now it contains very nice extra items as a campaign. It’s a handy card which is printed Ukiyoe (Japanese old style art). It is copy of Tohkaido-Goju-Santsugi (東海道五十三次) created by Utagawa Hiroshige (歌川広重). Theme of the card has changed according to seasons.

Though the card is not always contained, if you are interested in, please check it. You can get it at grocery store or convenience store in Japan.
If you don’t like boiled rice, don’t worry. Nagatani-en ochadsuke also matches boiled oat meal with hot water.
